Women’s Volleyball Team Gets Back on Track

The Penn State Women’s Volleyball Team got back on track this weekend, winning two home matches against #10 Minnesota 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21), and against Wisconsin 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-22).

Coming off their first Big Ten loss of the season against #3 Nebraska, Penn State came out on Friday with something to prove. They got back to their winning ways, defeating #10 Minnesota 3-1. Setter Micha Hancock tied her career high with seven aces, and Ariel Scott led the team with 20 kills. With the win, Penn State improved to 7-1 against ranked teams on the season.

The Nittany Lions continued that momentum into Sunday, beating Wisconsin 3-0 in a nationally televised game. Scott had a match-high 14 kills and Megan Courtney added nine. Courtney also had a team-high four blocks.

Penn State is now 23-2 on the year, and has a 13-1 record in the Big Ten. They play against a ranked Illinois team on Thursday, November 8 at Rec Hall, which begins at 8 p.m. Four of the Lions final six games are at home.
