Penn State Lionettes Win Second Consecutive National Championship

The Penn State Lionettes Dance Team won the National Championship earlier today at the National Dance Alliance Collegiate Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The victory marks the program’s second consecutive National Championship and its second in program history.
The Lionettes were one of eight finalist teams competing for the dance Division IA crown. Other finalists included: Kansas State, East Carolina, Miami (OH), North Carolina State, South Carolina, Iowa State, and Louisville.
The competition, which began on Wednesday and concludes on Sunday, is co-hosted by the National Cheerleading Association and National Dance Association.
Previously, the Lionettes finished third in 2011.
