UPUA to Offer Free Buses to Ohio State Game

After a miraculous victory over Michigan, the Penn State football team finds itself midway through the season. The heart of Big Ten schedule lies ahead with Penn State’s toughest opponent coming up on the road against Ohio State on October 26. UPUA, our student government, wants to make sure you are there to cheer on the team.

For the second time this year, UPUA will host the “Blue & White Brigade.” It will provide three buses, free of charge, to Penn State students wishing to travel to Columbus watch the team take on the Buckeyes. The first Blue & White Brigade made the trek to East Rutherford, NJ for the season opener against Syracuse.

Be aware though, the process to sign up for the buses has changed. UPUA sent out a press release explaining the process:

Registration for the Ohio State game will open at 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013. UPUA Representatives will be outside the ticket office of the Bryce Jordan Center with laptops so that students who have purchased student tickets may sign up. This process differs from the Syracuse game, as it requires students to physically be at a location rather than just sign an online form. Like the Syracuse game, each student must have his or her PSU ID with their 9-digit number and enter his or her phone number and email address to reserve their seat. You must have proof of a ticket purchase to sign up, but it doesn’t have to be purchased at the BJC ticket office.

There is only room for 150 students, so space should fill up quickly. The Blue & White Brigade will leave Penn State on Oct. 26 at 10:30 a.m. and is scheduled to come back right after the 8:00 p.m. game.

If you want to see Bill O’Brien and the Nittany Lions try and ruin Ohio State’s perfect season in person, make sure to claim your spot on Monday. After all, UPUA used $9,273 of its budget for the trip, so we all have a little less than a quarter invested anyway!
