Spike and Mike’s Animation Comes to State Theatre

Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Animation festival is coming to the State Theatre tonight, and things have never been more gruesome.

According to Craig “Spike” Decker, one of the founders of the Animation festival, this is “one of the freshest shows yet.” Seeing as they’ve been touring for over 20 years, this proves to be no small claim.

The Sick / Twisted tour started out as something else altogether– it was just a couple of guys who wanted to promote their rock band, “Sterno and the Flames,” alongside their specialty horror movie showings at a Co-Op in Riverside, California. After their showings picked up in popularity, they took it on the road.

Things started going right for the dynamic team as they picked up premiers for a number of renowned animators, such as the creators of Nightmare Before ChristmasWallace and Gromit, and Finding Nemo. They toured across college campuses and cities, bringing the viewers to their knees in awe of the sheer ingenious of the various clips they brought with them.

Well this year, it’s not going to be any different. Animations streaming in from Japan, Norway, Australia, and all across the globe make the Spike N’ Mike show just as raucous and clever as it is diverse.

For all of you animation-lovers, gore-admirers, and talent-enthusiasts, Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Animation Tour is showing at the State Theatre tonight at 10 p.m.

Here’s a teaser from the tour:
