Penn State-Michigan To Become Big House’s First Big Ten Night Game
Michigan Stadium has only hosted two home night games, both against Notre Dame. This season, Penn State will get a crack at playing in America’s biggest stadium under the lights.
Michigan’s Oct. 11 game with the Nittany Lions will kick off at 7 p.m. and be televised nationally on ESPN or ESPN2, making this the first Big Ten night game in the Big House. The two night games already played there averaged 8,653,000 viewers in 2013 and 7,541,000 viewers in 2011.
Penn State is Michigan’s most attractive Big Ten home opponent for 2014, as its other opponents are Minnesota, Indiana, and Maryland. This is the first time the Lions will play at the Wolverines since 2009, a 35-10 Lions victory. And, just so we all don’t forget, Michigan has not defeated Penn State since 2007, and last time we played, this happened.
