Matt Sandusky To Appear On Oprah Winfrey Network

Matt Sandusky, the adopted son of Jerry who alleged his father sexually abused him, will appear on an interview during “Oprah Prime” on the Oprah Winfrey Network on Thursday, July 17 at 9 p.m.

The preview for the episode of Oprah’s show says Matt will reveal “never-before-heard details of the sexual abuse he experienced as a child at the hands of his adopted father, and why he is choosing to speak out now.” Matt first came forward about the alleged abuse during his father’s trial, but has not publicly spoke about it since and never filed charges. He was later one of 26 people who was awarded a settlement by Penn State.

From the network preview:

He shares a deeply personal account of the grooming, methodical control and manipulation he faced as a child and responds to the accusations his adoptive mother, Dottie Sandusky, made on national television accusing him of lying and stealing from the family.

Since the trial, Matt and his wife founded their own child abuse awareness charity, the Peaceful Hearts Foundation. The network’s teaser, in which Matt says, “at bedtime, his ritual began,” can be seen here.
