Ask President Barron Anything In Upcoming Student Forum

Have a question you’re dying to ask President Barron? You’re in luck — the university president, fresh off a busy Board of Trustees meeting and in the thick of the state budget appropriations, will again open his wealth of university knowledge up to students in an open forum.

The forum, set for March 16 at 3 p.m. in Hintz Alumni Hall, will kick off with a short presentation from President Barron before the floor is opened for questions. Students will be able to ask Barron anything, as there’s no specific topic. Penn State’s three student governments: the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA), the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA), and the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments (CCSG) are hosting the event.

Last year President Barron held two forums for Penn State students. The first, held in November 2014, focused on student access and affordability where Barron discussed with students which areas the university could be proud of, and also critical of.

Barron’s second student forum, held in March 2015, was titled “President’s Forum on the Penn State Budget” and was just that. The Penn State president discussed with students the university budget and assured them that student concerns are at the top of his list.

For those who won’t be able to attend, attend a Commonwealth Campus, or are a part of Penn State’s World Campus, there will be a live stream. The forum is only open to Penn State students and requires a valid Penn State ID.
