Former Penn State Hockey Defenseman Kris Myllari Signs With ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies
Former Penn State hockey defenseman Kris Myllari has signed with the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies for the 2020-2021 season.
The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche.
The Kanata, Ontario native ranks first overall in goals for a defenseman (19) and second all-time in points by a blueliner (62) for the Nittany Lions. Additionally, Myllari is Penn State’s all-time leader in blocked shots (320.)
Myllari was a defensive force for the Nittany Lions over the course of the past four seasons. While his senior season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic, Myllari still managed to skate in all 34 games. He added a pair of goals and eight assists for Penn State. His 66 blocked shots was good enough for ninth-most in the Big Ten and 21st-most nationally.
The Nittany Lion will back on the ice when the ECHL’s season begins on December 11, under a split-season format.
