Penn State Wrestling Nabs Commitment From State Champion Dalton Perry

Penn State wrestling’s future continues to shine bright.

On Sunday, the Nittany Lions secured a commitment from freshman phenom Dalton Perry, who’s just started out at Central Mountain High School in Renovo, Pennsylvania. This winter, the Class of 2025 stud posted a 41-2 record and won a state title while wrestling at 126 pounds.

“This has been a dream of mine for many years,” Perry wrote in an Instagram post. “I look up to many guys in that room and can’t wait to join them.”

While he’s not dominating the high school mats, Perry trains at M2 Training Center in Pleasant Gap. The center, started by Penn State legend and Olympic gold medalist David Taylor, seeks “to help wrestlers learn and achieve their goals on and off the mat.”

Perry’s commitment is the latest offseason move for Cael Sanderson’s squad. Earlier this week, the Nittany Lions secured a commitment from Ohio State transfer Will Betancourt, who’s expected to compete at 125 pounds.

While Perry will need to wait a few years to join Penn State’s stacked room of wrestlers, his future seems undoubtedly bright. By the time he suits up in Rec Hall, the Nittany Lions could have a few more national titles under their belt.
