Eric Wilson didn’t hear his name called during the 2022 NFL Draft, but he’s still getting a chance at the next level.

The offensive lineman is signing with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent, he announced via Twitter Saturday evening. He’ll join former Penn State wide receiver Juwan Johnson in Louisiana.

The Minnesota native played three seasons at Harvard before transferring to Penn State ahead of the 2021 season for his final year of eligibility. Wilson played 22 games for the Crimson and earned second-team All-Ivy League honors after the 2019 season.

The 6’4″, 307-pounder started 12 games at guard for the Nittany Lions in his only season with the program. He was part of an offensive line that had its fair share of ups and downs, though, he proved to be a powerful force up front.

Wilson’s strength was on full display at Penn State’s Pro Day when he paced the group of participating players with 29 reps on the bench press. For comparison’s sake, his 29 reps would’ve been the fifth-most among all participants at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Eight Nittany Lions were selected during this year’s draft, and Wilson is the third former Penn State football player to be picked up as an undrafted free agent, joining Derrick Tangelo and Irvin Charles.
