Report: John Harrar Invited To Eagles Minicamp As Tight End

Former Penn State men’s basketball star John Harrar is reportedly hitting the gridiron, folks.

According to his agent, Blake Fromang, the King of Delco will attend minicamp with the Philadelphia Eagles as a tight end.

He originally committed to Army as a tight end before flipping his commitment to Penn State men’s basketball in April of 2017. The 6’9″, 240-pounder played football at Strath Haven High School and picked up Division I offers from Temple, Massachusetts, and of course Army, among others.

Harrar averaged 5.7 points per game on 59.6% shooting during his five-year career in Happy Valley. Despite entering the transfer portal after the 2020-21 season, Harrar returned to Penn State for his final season and averaged 10.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while starting all 31 games. For his career at Penn State, the Pennsylvania native played in 146 games, which is the most in program history.

The Eagles’ two-day rookie minicamp is set to begin on Friday, May 6.
