Report: Jahan Dotson Inks Rookie Deal With Washington Commanders

Following a first-team All-Big Ten campaign highlighted by snagging 91 receptions for 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns, Jahan Dotson warranted a well-earned payday after being selected No. 17 overall by the Washington Commanders in the 2022 NFL Draft.

On Wednesday afternoon, Dotson reportedly penned a four-year deal worth roughly $15.05 million with Washington. The terms of the signing, which were first reported by the Washington Post’s Nicki Jhabvala, are fully guaranteed.

With the finalization of yesterday’s deal, Dotson also collected a signing bonus worth over $8 million, in addition to his starting salary value of $705,000. The receiver’s yearly pay will increase annually until the end of his rookie deal, which caps at nearly $2.8 million in 2025.

The Commanders recently announced that Dotson will be repping the No. 1 jersey in burgundy and gold for the franchise’s newly rebranded squad. According to Washington’s head coach Ron Rivera, the Penn State product has looked “as good as advertised” through his first set of rookie practices with the team.

Alongside former Ohio State staples Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel at wide receiver, Dotson will likely step into an instant starting role to help Carson Wentz manage the Commanders’ offense on Sundays.
