Penn State Women’s Volleyball Releases Fall 2022 Schedule

It’s almost time for some Penn State women’s volleyball, folks.

The Nittany Lions announced their full fall 2022 schedule Monday afternoon, which will feature 31 matches, 16 of which will take place at Rec Hall.

Katie Schumacher-Cawley’s squad’s season will start with three home matches beginning August 26 as part of the Penn State Invitational. The Nittany Lions will take on Connecticut, Loyola (Maryland), and West Virginia over a two-day stretch.

From there, Penn State will play five games on the road, with three coming in the Tiger Challenge (at LSU) and then another two in the Big Ten/Pac 12 Challenge (at Minnesota). Following the road trip, the Nittany Lions will return home for their longest homestand of the season, which will include five matches.

The Nittany Lions will play Howard, Albany, and Coastal Carolina in the Penn State Classic (September 16 to 17) before opening up their Big Ten schedule. Penn State’s 20-game conference slate begins with a match against Indiana on September 23. The rest of the Big Ten schedule is listed below.

  • October 7 @ Ohio State

  • November 19 vs. Wisconsin
  • November 23 @ Northwestern
  • November 25 vs. Purdue

Season tickets for Penn State women’s volleyball can be purchased here. However, single-match tickets haven’t been released yet and are expected to go on sale “soon.”

Penn State went 21-11 during the 2021 season and boasted a 13-7 record within the conference. The squad’s season ended in the second round of the NCAA Tournament when it fell to the Pittsburgh Panthers, who ended up advancing all the way to the tournament semifinals.
