Former Penn State Baseball Head Coach Rob Cooper Hired As Miami Director Of Player Development

Rob Cooper is on the move.

The former Penn State baseball head coach was hired as the director of player development at Miami, Miami announced Tuesday. The move comes two and a half months after Cooper announced his resignation from Penn State.

Cooper spent a decade at the helm of Penn State baseball but struggled to find any real success in Happy Valley. During his tenure, the Nittany Lions reached the Big Ten Tournament just once, finished with a record of 198-270, and never won more than half of their conference matchups.

Cooper was replaced in his position soon after his resignation by former Boston College skipper Mike Gambino, who has since revamped the squad with a number of commitments from the transfer portal and impressive promises to turn the program around.
