For the third week in a row, Penn State women’s soccer is ranked No. 6 in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

The Nittany Lions also moved up one spot to No. 3 in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll.

Penn State shut out Princeton 3-0 to improve its record to 6-0-1. The Nittany Lions maintain their undefeated streak this season and have won every game since their opening draw with No. 2 North Carolina.

Penn State center-back Mieke Schiemann put on a clinic at Jeffrey Field against the Tigers and scored two of the team’s three goals and tallied an assist. She was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week following the performance.

Forward Kaitlyn MacBean was also named to Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week after dominant outings against West Virginia and TCU.

The Nittany Lions are currently the highest-ranked Big Ten team in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, followed by conference foes Northwestern (No. 18) and Michigan (No. 19) in the top 25. Iowa received votes in the poll.

Penn State opens Big Ten play against Maryland at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 15, at Jeffery Field.
