Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Names 2024 Team Captains

Grant Haus, TJ Malone, and Jack Posey will serve as the Penn State men’s lacrosse team captains this season, the team announced Thursday.

Haus returns as captain for his second year while Malone and Posey will serve for their first time.

“Our staff is excited, and blessed, with the leadership of our program,” said head coach Jeff Tambroni in a press release. “Grant, TJ, and Jack are phenomenal ambassadors of Penn State lacrosse, and we are confident that they will lead Team 111 with courage and compassion.”

Haus returns for his fifth year with 48 career appearances to his name. He earned USILA and Inside Lacrosse All-American honorable mentions and was named to the All-Big Ten second team. Haus recorded a career-high 35 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers last season, notching at least one ground ball each game.

Malone is coming back to Happy Valley after a career season where he recorded 73 points from 39 goals and 34 assists. The attacker had his share of accolades last season, as he was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Big Ten, and finished as a Tewaaraton Award Finalist on top of multiple All-American honors.

Posey also returns for his fifth year after a standout season. He was named to the All-Big Ten second team as the top defenseman for Penn State and received All-American Honorable Mentions. Posey 11 caused turnovers and 25 ground balls last season, both a career-high for him. The defender was the most recent National Lacrosse League draft pick, selected by the Calgary Roughnecks.

The veteran captains will attempt to lead their team to another standout season after becoming Big Ten regular season champions.
