Former Penn State football standouts Ki-Jana Carter & D.J. Dozier were once again nominated to the College Football Hall of Fame, the organization announced Monday. The running backs have been nominated several times over the years.

Carter, who played for Penn State from 1992-94, recorded 2,829 rushing yards and 34 touchdowns during his three seasons. During the 1994 season, Carter finished second in Heisman Trophy voting and was named the MVP at the 1995 Rose Bowl.

Dozier played for Penn State from 1983-86, recording 25 touchdowns on 3,227 rushing yards during that time. He was the first ever Penn State running back to lead the team in rushing for four consecutive seasons and led the Nittany Lions to a 12-0 season and a national championship in 1986.

Penn State has 26 former players and coaches who have been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Paul Posluszny was most recently inducted in 2024.

To be eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame, players must have received first-team All-America recognition by a selector that is recognized by the NCAA, played their last season of intercollegiate football within the last 50 years, and had 10 full seasons after their final year of intercollegiate play. Along with on-field accomplishments, a player’s post-football record as a citizen is also taken into consideration.

An announcement for the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame class will be made sometime during early 2025. Inductees will be officially honored on December 9, 2025, at the Bellagio Hotel & Resort.
