Penn State Finishes No. 23 In Learfield Directors’ Cup

Penn State has finished 23rd in the Learfield Directors’ Cup, an annual challenge comparing how NCAA Division I institutions compete across all sports. Penn State finished with 827.75 points, behind Ohio State, Michigan, and Nebraska in the Big Ten.

Nineteen Division I sports can be counted in each school’s final total, four of which must be baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and women’s volleyball. Penn State’s most successful season came in the winter when it scored 406.75 points. Penn State’s teams also scored 150 and 271 points in the fall and spring seasons, respectively.

Penn State captured one Division I title in the 2023-24 seasons, as wrestling captured its 11th championship of the last 13 seasons. Wrestling’s victory contributed 100 points to the Nittany Lions’ overall total, while fencing added 75, women’s soccer added 73, women’s gymnastics added 66.8, and football added 63 points.
