The Corner Room: A Review

Being a legitimate townie (suck it Bellefonte!!) I have spent a lot of my pre and post pubescent years eating at the Corner Room. It’s a fixture of State College life—Allen street would just look strange without it. That being said I feel like I haven’t really appreciated this fine establishment in the way I feel it deserves. On my most recent visit I decided to look at the Corner Room with a new perspective, like I had never eaten there before.

Overheard at Grillers

As Penn Staters stumble home in the cold from their Thirsty Thursday festivities, they are drawn to the infamous cheese balls at Grillers like moths to a flame. Armed with some delightfully greasy grilled cheese sandwiches, we sat to observe the impending parade of debauchery. Here are the best (or worst, depending how you'd like to look at it) things that we overheard at Grillers.

Pilato’s Heister Street Mural to Expand

Muralist Michael Pilato has plans to expand his Heister Street "Inspiration Mural" around the block, adding more students and other Penn State symbols that have emerged over the past year.

Vintage Goes Virtual for The Rag and Bone

A bright red sign that reads "We're Moving On" hangs from the window of the State College vintage store, The Rag and Bone. At the end of this year, the East Calder Way store front will be permanently closed. But all of the costume jewelry, funky colored wigs, derby hats and one-piece bathing suites will continue to be sold under The Rag and Bone name from an online store. Zeno’s Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Historic downtown State College bar Zeno's Pub celebrates its 40th anniversary this Saturday. With a full lineup of music and events, one of the best college bars in America promises to have one of the best parties of our lifetime.
