State Theatre to Host Benefit Concert Featuring Local Bands

The State Theatre will host a benefit concert called “Runnin’ Down a Dream: Celebrating the Music of Tom Petty,” featuring a number of local bands this Saturday, Jan. 25. All bands will be performing covers of Tom Petty’s greatest hits.

This is the 3rd annual benefit concert sponsored by the State Theatre. All proceeds benefit the State Theatre and the non-profit organization Easter Seals of Central and Western Pennsylvania, which promotes equality among those with disabilities throughout the state.

The concert will feature a line-up of bands from a wide variety of musical genres—from indie rock group The Nighcrawlers to the acoustic band GRAIN. Other acts include: Hannah Bingman, Miss Melanie and The Valley Rats, Ted and The Hi-Fi’s, Pure Cane Sugar, Erin Condo and The Hoofties, The Screaming Ducks, and Chris Vipond and The Stanley Street Band.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $25-$100 and  can be purchased online
