The State Theatre will host a benefit concert called “Runnin’ Down a Dream: Celebrating the Music of Tom Petty,” featuring a number of local bands this Saturday, Jan. 25. All bands will be performing covers of Tom Petty’s greatest hits.

This is the 3^rd annual benefit concert sponsored by the State Theatre. All proceeds benefit the State Theatre and the non-profit organization Easter Seals of Central and Western Pennsylvania, which promotes equality among those with disabilities throughout the state.

The concert will feature a line-up of bands from a wide variety of musical genres—from indie rock group The Nighcrawlers to the acoustic band GRAIN. Other acts include: Hannah Bingman, Miss Melanie and The Valley Rats, Ted and The Hi-Fi’s, Pure Cane Sugar, Erin Condo and The Hoofties, The Screaming Ducks, and Chris Vipond and The Stanley Street Band.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $25-$100 and  can be purchased online.
