National Champion Women’s Soccer To Hold Panel Discussion At The All-Sports Museum

The Penn State women’s soccer team captured its first National Championship in team history at the College Cup back in December. Coming off that historic triumph, Coach Erica Walsh and the team’s seniors will be featured in a panel discussion on Tuesday at 6 p.m. as part of the Ellen Perry Speaker Series.

Walsh is in her ninth year as coach of the Nittany Lions. In her time as coach, she captured a pair of Big Ten Championships and has been to the College Cup twice, claiming the title in 2015. She was also named NSCAA Coach of the Year this past season.

The seniors of the team include Teddy Chase, Britt Eckerstrom, Megan Ritchey, Mallory Weber, and National Player of the Year Raquel Rodriguez. Eckerstrom, Weber, and Rodriguez will continue their careers as professionals having been drafted by different clubs in the National Women’s Soccer League.

The event will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Clemen’s Family Theatre at the Penn State All-Sports Museum. It is free and open to the public. Erica Walsh and the National Champions will tell their story from the 2015 season, and yes, the all-important College Cup Trophy will be present.

Maybe he finally opened that sports bar named after one of his photos, the Blurry Zamboni. Or he might just be eating chicken tenders and couch surfing. Anything’s possible.
