Carl Nassib, welcome to Cleveland.

Nassib came to Penn State as a walk-on in 2011. He surprisingly made his rise as one of the stars of the team in his fifth year year — his first year as a starter. The Pennsylvania native started all 13 games and recorded a Penn State record and NCAA-leading 15.5 sacks during the season. The season even earned a backtracking from his former coach Bill O’Brien, who said Nassib “proved me wrong.”

The stellar senior season landed Nassib a number of accolades including First Team All-Big Ten, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and AP First Team All-American. Possibly the most prestigious award he won, the Lombardi Trophy, was awarded to him as the nation’s top lineman.

Nassib showed scouts his abilities at the Senior Bowl practice despite not playing due to a minor undisclosed injury. He continued to have impressive outings at the NFL Combine and Penn State’s Pro Day.
