Penn State Football Shares Why It THONs

Every year, the Penn State Football team makes its presence known throughout THON Weekend, usually through a few special appearances or a flashy pep rally routine. This year, virtual THON or not, is no exception.

During the 24th hour of Penn State’s annual dance marathon, members of the program joined THON’s livestream and shared their reasons for why they THON.

  • “I want to raise as much awareness for childhood cancer as possible,” wide receiver Jahan Dotson said.
  • “I THON for my cousin Casey, who was diagnosed with cancer as a kid,” linebacker Charlie Katshir said.
  • “I do it to change as many lives as I can for the better,” linebacker Ellis Brooks said.
  • “I THON to change people’s lives,” said kicker Jake Pinegar.
  • “I THON for all the kids and all the lives it touches in a positive way,” cornerback Keaton Ellis said.
  • “I THON for all the kids I’ve met over the past five years,” said quarterback Sean Clifford

THON is a big event for the football team, as many members get involved and give back. The 46-hour dance marathon started on Friday, Febuary 19, and will wrap up at 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 21.
