Former Penn State Hoops Signee Logan Imes Commits To Notre Dame

See ya, Class of 2023.

Former Penn State men’s basketball signee Logan Imes officially committed to Notre Dame, he announced on Twitter Wednesday. Imes’ move is the final departure in an exodus of Penn State’s Class of 2023 program commitments after former head coach Micah Shrewsberry left the Nittany Lions for Notre Dame.

Imes originally committed to Penn State in March 2022 as a three-star guard. He initially chose Penn State over Creighton, Wake Forest, and Virginia Tech. Notre Dame’s newest commitment was an impressive prospect out of high school and a member of one of Penn State’s best recruiting classes in program history. In his time with Zionsville High School, Imes recorded 1,091 points, 363 rebounds, and 228 assists en route to being named an Indiana All-Star.

Imes is a close friend of Micah Shrewsberry’s son, Braeden Shrewsberry, who recently switched his allegiance from Penn State to Notre Dame to follow his father. Imes will also follow former Penn State signee Carey Booth, whose move to the Fighting Irish was made official on Tuesday.

Imes requested his release from Penn State just four days after Micah Shrewsberry’s departure to Notre Dame was made official, though his move from the program was expected once the coaching position at Penn State opened up.

New Nittany Lion head coach Mike Rhoades officially has no high school commitments entering his roster next year. Instead, his team is highlighted by transfers Ace Baldwin Jr.Qudus WahabPuff Johnson, Zach HicksNick Kern, and Leo O’Boyle.
