A.J. Harris has officially signed with the Nittany Lions, the program announced Thursday night.

Four-star cornerback A.J. Harris has reportedly committed to transfer to Penn State football, On3 reported Thursday. Harris, who comes from Georgia with three years of eligibility remaining, is the fifth transfer portal pickup for the Nittany Lions. On3 reported Harris is on campus taking classes.

In his lone season at Georgia, Harris played in seven games and made eight total tackles. He stands at 6’1″ and 180 pounds and was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. While he had an offer from Penn State before he enrolled with the Bulldogs, he was pegged to go to Georgia, Florida, or Clemson.

Harris will have the chance to fill a notable gap in Penn State’s secondary created by the departure of Kalen King and the expected departure of Johnny Dixon, both to the NFL. Both King and Dixon opted out of the Nittany Lions’ Peach Bowl game against Ole Miss, making it evident Penn State may need some help at the position with the play of Cam Miller and Zion Tracy in the secondary.

Harris will join wide receiver Julian Fleming, kicker Chase Meyer, offensive tackle Nolan Rucci, and edge rusher Jordan Mayer as portal pickups for James Franklin.
