Former Northern Illinois Guard Yanic Konan Niederhauser Transfers To Penn State Hoops

Former Northern Illinois men’s basketball forward Yanic Konan Niederhauser has committed to transfer to Penn State men’s basketball, per Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68. Niederhauser is the second transfer commit for the Nittany Lions in this cycle alongside Xavier center Kachi Nzeh.
A native of Fraschels, Switzerland, Niederhauser spent two seasons with the Huskies. He appeared in 47 games, starting 28 times. He finished his career with Northern Illinois with 241 points, 150 rebounds, and 67 blocks. His numbers improved massively between his freshman and sophomore years, as he tacked on 198 points, 120 rebounds, and 57 blocks last season.
After losing Jameel Brown, Demetrius Lilley, Bragi Guðmundsson, and Favour Aire to the transfer portal, head coach Mike Rhoades picked up a 6’11”, 255-pound replacement in Niederhauser. Sophomore guard Kanye Clary also entered the portal, though Clary had already departed the team.
