Penn State Museums: Which is the Best?

Penn State's museums offer students an array of opportunities to supplement classroom instruction or to simply learn something new.

Whether one is looking for a diversion during parents' weekend or an inexpensive way to spend an afternoon, there is always somewhere to go and something to see. We rounded up information about some of our favorite museums on campus. Check it out after the jump.

MLK Jr Events Galore at PSU

The 26th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration week at Penn State, offers students plentiful opportunities to become inspired, informed and engaged. By asking students to 'Celebrate the Legacy: Act on the Dream' in 2011, event organizers hope to continue Dr. King's messages of peace and humility for all.

Campus Tea House Quenches Thirst for Variety

Take a walk around campus and you'll see a coffeehouse in almost every building. Perfect for coffee lovers, but what is there for the average tea drinker?

Wonder no longer. A new on-campus tea house opened in mid-November in 34 Ritenour and is open from 12:15 to 2:30 p.m on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  The organization is run by sophomore Jason Cohen and members of  the Gongfu Cha (Chinese Tea Ceremony) club.

Eco-Action to ‘Bare’ Witness for Alternate Energy

Talk about pulling out all the stops. At 3:40 p.m. on Thursday December 2, members of Eco-Action, a student advocacy group for alternative energy, plan to show solidarity in a unique fashion...by dropping their pants.

According to a press release, the demonstration outside of the HUB comes as President Spanier and Penn State must make a decision about "the future of the West Campus coal-fired steam plant in January 2011."

Penn State: Think (Inno)Blue, White and Green?

This time of the year, most employers think black. That is about to change. Today at 5 p.m., Penn State will host the first Innoblue 'Demo Day' at the Beaver Stadium Recruitment Lounge. According to the event's flyer,  it will be a "showcase of 12 companies from Penn State and State College that exemplify Innoblue's mission of doing well while doing good, in a sustainable way."

State College: Housing Affordable, Where Available

It is unquestionable that college is an investment. College is a life decision that affects all areas of one's life, academic, social, and monetary. A property survey released on November 11 by Coldwell Banker documented the purchase cost of "four bedroom, two bathroom properties" in home markets of 120 football subdivision schools.
