O’Brien Looks to the Future, Offers Few Answers

Bill O’Brien’s weekly Tuesday press conferences are typically an opportunity to discuss the team, last week’s game, and the coming Saturday matchup. But that wasn’t that case this afternoon as O’Brien essentially refused to discuss the Nittany Lions’ 44-24 loss against Indiana in Bloomington this past weekend, instead opting to discuss the coming matchup against Michigan.

With Army's status as Penn State's opponent this Friday at the Pegula Ice Arena opener in question due to the government shutdown, athletic officials are lining up a backup plan. According to Buffalo Business First, Canisius College in Buffalo is Penn State's immediate backup if Army falls through.

That's because this is National Coming Out Week, which the Penn State LGBTA is celebrating. The week concludes with Coming Out Day on October 11.

Philosophy Department Wins $236,000 Mellon Grant

The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts received a $236,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to complete work on the Public Philosophy Journal.
