Class of 2023 Guard Bragi Gudmundsson Commits To Penn State Hoops

Mike Rhoades has officially scored a commit from the Class of 2023.

Icelandic point guard Bragi Gudmundsson announced his commitment to Penn State men’s basketball Wednesday on Instagram.

According to EuroBasket, Gudmundsson is a 6’5″ point guard who currently plays for Grindavik in the Iceland-Subway League.

In the 2022-23 season for Grindavik, Gudmundsson averaged 10 points, 1.8 assists, and four rebounds per game through 24.6 minutes per game. The point guard averaged a 28.4% clip from three-point land in his 25 appearances this past season.

Gudmundsson will join recruits Ace Baldwin Jr., Nick Kern Jr., Zach Hicks, Puff Johnson, Qudus Wahab, Leo O’Boyle, and RayQuawndis Mitchell on the roster, and returners Jameel Brown, Kanye Clary, and Demetrius Lilley. Gudmundsson is the first commit from the Class of 2023 once consisted of Braeden Shrewsberry, Logan Imes, and Carey Booth under former head coach Micah Shrewsberry.
