Penn State Football Running Back Trey Potts Declares For NFL Draft

Penn State football running back Trey Potts has declared for the NFL Draft, he announced Thursday. Potts spent one year at Penn State after spending the previous four years with Minnesota.

“To the coaches, staff, and amazing fans at Penn State, thank you for giving a kid from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, a chance to wear the blue and white and fulfill his dream of becoming a Nittany Lion,” Potts wrote in a statement.

Potts served as the Nittany Lions’ third-string running back during his lone season in Happy Valley. Behind Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton, Potts recorded 21 rushing attempts across nine games for 132 yards. He also threw a passing touchdown against Illinois and made three catches for 27 yards.

While Potts got consistent touches at Minnesota, he was rarely a starter for the Golden Gophers. He played in 12 games in the 2022 season but only started in one. Across his five seasons in college football, Potts finished with 1,330 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns across 260 touches.

Along with Potts, Alex FelkinsKalen King, Adisa IsaacChop RobinsonTheo JohnsonCurtis JacobsCaedan WallaceDaequan Hardy, and Olu Fashanu have also declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
